Success Stories
To get a head start on making projects for the local Harvest Fair, our activities director brought in some yarn and a knitting spool. One of our residents, Ginny, took an interest right away. We thought for sure that this project would take her a few months to make, but we were wrong! Within a month, Ginny had herself a braided rug. I helped sew it together for her and she started her next project!! Her next project is a baby blanket for one of the staff. Ginny had so much fun making her rug that she inspired two other residents to start making one also.
Another one of our residents, Eleanor, is an excellent painter. Each year Kindred Healthcare has an Art and Poetry Contest and the winning work is compiled into a book called the Kindred Kaleidoscope. Eleanor agreed she would like to enter a painting into the contest. So far, we have four beautiful paintings to choose from. When Eleanor is not painting, she is working on a braided rug for herself.
After these projects, we will start working on projects for the Harvest Fair!
